With over 170 species being spotted at The Discovery Center, come find out what makes this human-made resource a respite for nesting and migratory birds. All ages and birding abilities welcome. Binoculars available for loan.

The Delaware Valley Ornithological Club (DVOC) is one of the oldest ornithology organizations in the United States. Founded in 1890, the club has held regular meetings at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia for over 125 years, and has published the periodical Cassinia since 1901.

Join Audubon Mid-Atlantic and Damien Ruffner as we introduce you to the wonderful world of birding!

Birding (aka bird watching) has been a pastime for centuries. But it can be intimidating to start. "Where do I go to watch birds?" "What equipment do I need?" "What do I look for first?" This series is designed to answer those questions and introduce the world of birding to new audiences, novice birders, or anyone with an interest in the outdoors.

We will take a deep-dive into the equipment, techniques, and codes of conduct of birding. And since it is fall migration season, we’ll be focusing our birding of migratory birds. This workshop will focus on identification and data gathering. There are TWO workshops to choose from: 9am-11am or 1pm-3pm, please register here.
